Dear Friends, A few weeks ago, I was at the Universal
Lightworkers Conference in Ft. Lauderdale. As usual, it was a lot of fun and also very emotionally moving
for me. I had a tremendous healing & personal breakthrough that I believe I would not have experienced
had I stayed home instead.
For those of you who have never attended, the Universal Lightworkers Conference (also called the “ULC” for short) is actually less of a conference and more of a “celebration” instead. The emphasis is on love & light,
and literally “light-en-ing” up your spirit & soul. The idea is that by coming together in *joy*, we can actually heal ourselves and raise the consciousness of the planet.
I’m often asked, “What’s a lightworker?”
Although I’m not sure of the “official” definition (or if there even is one), I usually answer by
saying that a lightworker is someone who is raising the consciousness of the planet by becoming more spiritually aware &
conscious in her own life. To me, a lightworker is also someone who literally tries to be as “light-hearted”,
loving, positive, and joyful as possible.
So at the Universal Lightworkers Conference, there was lots of music, lots of dancing, and lots of laughter
and fun. (With the conference taking place during Mercury retrograde, there were also plenty of jokes about
microphones “retrograding”.)
My friend Evelyn & I
flew in to the conference a day early so we could celebrate her birthday in style. We ate a decadent meal
of seafood, crème brulee, and white wine, right on the waterfront, and then followed that up with a long soak in the
hot tub and swimming under the moonlight in the pool.
The conference didn’t start until late Friday afternoon, so Evelyn & I passed some time exploring the state-run
aquatic preservation lands that were right next to our hotel. We also visited with a gypsy reader, savored
mango-banana “smoothies”, and talked to the tiny gecko lizards that scurried around in the wild palms and fronds.
(One little lizard in particular seemed to very much enjoy listening to my high-pitched “animal voice”….he
even nodded when I asked him a question…really!)
The
Speakers & Presenters
When the conference
actually began Friday night, it started with a BANG: Two great channelers
back-to-back…first, Pat Rodegast (channel of Emmanuel) and Shinto, whom I would describe as a channeler of All-That-Is.
On
Saturday, we heard from James Redfield (Celestine Prophecies) and Michael Mirdad (spiritual teacher & author extraordinaire,
author of “You’re Not Going Crazy, You’re Just Waking Up!). On Sunday, Patricia Cota-Robles
(President of the New Age Study of Humanity’s Purpose) and Gary Renard (Disappearance of the Universe) both spoke, although
I didn’t get to directly experience their energy this time because our flight left early Sunday morning.
There were also 4 fabulous workshop presenters at the ULC, including Kathryn Andies, Steve & Ami Sciulli (Life
In Balance), and Michelle Whitedove. I myself have also been a featured speaker at the ULC in recent years
(2005, prosperity), but this time I was trying to go “incognito”, just for the fun of it as a participant,
although this is very hard to do when they announce to about 300 people that you are on the site (can’t say that
I mind though…it is always a privilege to be honored & recognized by my colleagues).
I learned a little something from every speaker. The common thread among them all seemed to be the
importance of “love”, both for ourselves & others, and also for the situations in our lives.
The Being Emmanuel (as channeled through Pat) gave me the wonderful idea to write myself a “love letter”
to help connect with the love of God inside of me. From this powerful being, I also “got” that
we were all called to this planet by Perfect Love, and to Perfect Love we are all returning.
From Shinto & the All-That-Is that moved through him, I received the deep awareness that many of us on the spiritual
path are currently living lifetimes of “completion”, which is why we often experience so many endings & break-downs
in our lives. From Shinto, I also “got” that we are here to accept the unacceptable, and
to love (especially ourselves) even in the face of fear.
James Redfield gave me so
much insight into the 12 insights that my head still spins when I think of all the deep wisdom he imparted to us.
Perhaps the most significant truth I learned from James was the importance of getting in the feeling of “love”
each & every day of your life, and focusing on being a net giver (instead of a net taker).
Michael Mirdad has just written a new book (You’re Not Going Crazy…You’re Just Waking Up!) and
had much information to impart to us about the 5 stages of the “soul transformation” process. Since
my life seems to be in various stages of upheaval & transformation at the moment, I found Michael’s message about
the stages of change to be most helpful. But perhaps the most powerful truth that I always “get”
whenever I hear Michael speak is the importance of being true to your self & your own inner essence, and not saying or
doing things that you don’t really want to do.
